APPEARANCE
Hair:
Mizuki's hair is black with a brown tint (also deemed as "Raven") and falls neatly around her shoulders and back. On occasion, Mizuki will cut her hair during the warmer months to where it can be seen as "boy short," but it's still neat and very feminine-like so no one can really mistake her for a boy.
Eyes:
Slate-blue
Height:
5'6"
Style:
Mizuki's style varies from time to time whenever she's not at work. Because she comes from such a noble clan of magic users, her style of dress is very sophisticated. However, when in the company with friends, she tends to wear jeans and elegant tops. Whenever Mizuki is home, she's usually in some sort of kimono or dress (unless she's practicing martial arts with her brother or husband). Even when in "casual dress" Mizuki is often wearing nice heels. There are times, however, where even she likes to "walk on the wild side" and when not in the company of her family, takes on a new persona - at least visually. Unfortunately, since she is currently pregnant and due in less than a month, maternity wear is what she generally wears these days.
Etc.:
Though lithe in appearance, Mizuki has endured much training over the years to become the auror that she is today. She also bears a black dragon tattoo on her left shoulder.

Basic Personality:
Mizuki is a caring individual and can appear to be soft-spoken at times. She's she's changed much over the years due to a variety of factors. In spite of everything that has happened, Mizuki has tried her best to move forward with her life and to be a good wife, mother, and witch to the magical world in which she lives. She will never strike against someone unless justified and even then, she is not too happy about it. Nevertheless, once pushed too far or sees someone she considers a close friend or relative bullied upon, Mizuki will not hesitate to step in or defend herself by any means.
Mizuki is not fond of violence, but will use it in order to defend herself and those she loves. However, she really is a gentle soul at heart and would never wish for the harm of others to befall upon them. Life has already thrown her too many harsh realities as it is. No need for Karma to come and bite her in the ass again for being bitter and resentful.
Though Mizuki is gentle, she has a fighting and liberating sort of personality. She will not tolerate the oppression of the weak nor will she allow to see others becoming corrupted by power or greed. Mizuki hates watching what little part of humanity there is left deteriorating. Mizuki's goal is to preserve the goodness that she knows still exists in people's hearts. It is how she has managed to undergo her training diligently and how she's succeeded at being the auror she is today.
BIOGRAPHY
Mizuki was born into the Shimoto Clan with very high hopes from her family. Her pale blue eyes and the dragon mark on her shoulder symbolized good omens and great fortune to befall her pure magical Clan. In Japan, they do not view such gifts as Wizardry or Witchcraft, but as Divine Arts.
However, she was still young and so her elder brother, Tasuki, would end up having to take the role of Head Priest of the Shimoto Clan. Needless to say, he didn't exactly enjoy this role in his life.
When it was time for Mizuki to attend Hikaru's School of Mystical Arts and Divine Magic, her older brother disappeared. None knew where he had gone, so of course the Clan turned to her to fill that void. This somewhat upset Mizuki. She'd already lost her brother and now was put through carrying the hopes and life of the Shimoto Clan onto her shoulder.
Her first year at school was miserable at first, but it soon passed as she delved head first in all of her classes. She proved to be quite the child prodigy when it came to protective and healing magic. Perhaps this was only the first step to moving herself along her destined path.
Everything went fine until the end of her 2nd year. A devastating thing happened to Mizuki and she ended up getting lost in the vast woodland area just outside of her homeland. It was there that Mizuki lost touch with reality and nearly got spirited away by the specters in the area; her ancestors though she did not know this at the time.
They plagued her with visions of her possible future...that her death would be at the hands of the greatest evil ever known to walk the planes of Earth. Her death had been painful; she'd been tortured to near insanity but held on only to be cut down horrifically by the man; that monster. Eventually, Mizuki blacked out from the sheer horror of her vision.
When she came to, she was in the Clan's infirmary and had been told she'd been practically comatose for 4 months. Mizuki could not speak and had trouble eating and would not be able to actually walk for another 6 months. Her 3rd year that was supposed to be spent at Hikaru's was spent at Rehab, helping her get back on her feet. Eventually, Mizuki was able to speak and eat properly, as well as move without the aid of a wheelchair or cane anymore. It was at this time that Mizuki decided she wanted to become a part of an organization to protect people from this kind of evil.
Her parents spoke to the Headmaster at Hikaru's and, with his permission, gave Mizuki the placement test to go into her 4th year having missed her 3rd year at school. Because of all the studying and hard work she'd made herself endure during her 1st and 2nd years, she only missed a few major test questions and would have to take remedial classes for her 3rd year classes when she came back for her 4th year. Mizuki didn't mind. The idea of being able to go back to school again was enough for her.
At the age of 14, closing her 4th year, Tasuki returned. This pleased the Clan leaders greatly and because Tasuki had returned, Mizuki was able to remove the heavy burden of Head Priestess off of her shoulder and gave the title of Head Priest back to her brother. It turned out that he had traveled abroad, to the West, and went to a school called Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. There, he discovered the ill antics and evil by the name of Voldemort. Though Mizuki did not know why, the name caused a deep chill to reach her heart.
Perhaps that horrible vision had something to do with this Voldemort character.
But the stories her brother told her of England intrigued Mizuki and, with the permission of the Clan leaders, was allowed to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Entering Hogwarts her 5th year was a bit insane. All the buzz of students getting ready for their O.W.L.'s was something in itself.
Another word frequented itself amongst the students as she stepped through the gates entering Hogwarts: Auror.
So, that's what a defender against evil was called...an Auror. Mizuki would try her best to focus all her energy into becoming just that: an Auror. That way, she would not be able to let the horror of that vision come to pass...or if it did come to pass, she would face it head long and not let the fear grip her as it did in the vision.
Making her way to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Mizuki accepted the curriculum and took things in stride. Being placed in Gryffindor, she was happy to know that her dorm mates were always willing to help her out and guide her through all the in's and out's of the school. Without even realizing it, she had let the two girls into her hearts. The school year progressed and she eventually became friends with two Ravenclaw boys: Adrian Brandt, a Sixth year, and Alex Karamazov, a Fourth year. The three of them became close, making excuses to practice Quidditch together and to venture to the library when they could. Soon winter holiday came and she invited Alex and Adrian to come to her Estate in her hometown (after having been turned down by her dorm mates), and she extended the invitation to their friends as well. A new sort of feeling blossomed between Alex and Mizuki.
The trip ended on a happy note with Mizuki performing the Hatsumode ceremony alongside her brother, and made their way back to England to attend the New Years Eve Ball (having been asked by Alex previously during a Quidditch practice with Adrian and herself). Dressed to impress, they attended the ball and as the New Year rang out across the whole of Hogwarts, Alex kissed Mizuki and the two became official as of that night. Mizuki was the happiest she'd ever been in a long while.
The Spring term began and she was looking forward to her new classes and passing her O.W.L.s, but as fate would have it, her "illness" struck again and she was immediately taken to St. Mungo's. Tasuki was notified of his sister's condition and knew that the wizarding clinic would not be able to help his sister. She would need the other shamans of their clan to rid her of this spiritual poison once more.
Mizuki awoke the second time from her coma, the visions more fierce and frightening than before. With each passing day growing closer to her sixteenth birthday and coronation of becoming head priestess of the Shimoto Clan, Mizuki's precognitive abilities began to strengthen. It was a curse and blessing. But the visions she received frightened her to no end. They were all things she would have to deal with as time goes on...including the evil wrath of the being that continued to plague Mizuki's psyche.
Just as the summer blossomed before her 6th year, Mizuki was terrified to discover that Alex, her first love, had also disappeared shortly after she did. Though she and Melissa kept in close contact, the Gryffindor girl was just as clueless about Alex's disappearance. The summer drew onward and just when she thought she was going to be able to return to Hogwarts, her family gave her the most daunting news since her brother disappeared on them.
She wasn't going back to Hogwarts that year.
Angered by her parents' sudden decision, Mizuki demanded to know their reasons. The Elders had suggested that she stay in Japan, attend Hikaru's, and when the year completed she would be ready for her official coronation as Head Priestess of the Shimoto Clan once Summer vacation began. That was it. Mizuki had had enough with her family dictating her life and everything that came with living it. She was inclined to tell them that she was having her way this once or so help her, but again, Tasuki stepped in to settle the issue. His suggestion? She be allowed to return to Hogwarts for her 6th if she conducted the ceremony to become Head Priestess that summer. They agreed and Mizuki agreed as well, though reluctant. She spent what little time she had left of the summer with her friends from Hogwarts, as well as taking the reigns of Priestess.
The weeks passed by as though time were playing a cruel joke on her. Training, studies, and missing her closest friends. Missing Alex... Even her precognitive abilities (as well as a variety of others) were starting to surface more and more as the months pressed on. It was all just too much for her. The letter writing began and while she kept close correspondence with her friends, she was unable to keep tabs with Adrian or Alex - especially Alex. Her Sora, her "sky," was not writing her back. Had he given up on her? Did he not hold those feelings close to her heart anymore?
Was she just a lost memory in the abyss of time?
Her days at home were drawing to a close, slowly, and soon summer would be ending. Her coronation as Head Priestess marked the very first big change in her life. Mizuki was changing and changing slowly. But honestly? Was it for the better? The young girl was frightened of this prospect and so, with every bit of strength she could muster (as well as will power), Mizuki Shimoto would try her hardest to hold onto the person that her friends know and love.
Now, her 6th year at Hogwarts was beginning. And while Mizuki knew her other classmates that shared her year were dreading the upcoming N.E.W.T.s, Mizuki welcomed them. It was better than being smothered in her own home with the constant naggings of duties, prestige and tradition that the Shimoto Clan brought with it.
During her time at Hogwarts, when she realized that Alex was no longer coming back into her life, a new figure appeared at full force and had been there since her 5th year: Jett Bouchard. He was a constant thorn in her side - always getting on her nerves and bullying her to a degree that she found almost intolerable. Finally, she snapped and raised her hand against him. She told herself that she would have nothing to do with him or so help her. But as fate would have it, that would not be the case. The summer before her 7th year, Mizuki suffered a terrible "accident" and lost her memories. An amnesiac with nowhere and no one to turn to, she leaned on her friend, Derek Yi, and he helped her through as much of it as he could. Jett wiggled into her life once more, claiming to be her "beloved" and they had a wonderful summer together. Mizuki could not recall a time when she was happiest. But she soon regained her memories as they arrived at Hogwarts and realized that everything up until that moment with her and Jett was a complete lie.
7th year came to an end with her graduation. She was already admitted into the Auror Training program thanks to high recommendations from her Head of House, as well as the support of Dumbledore. She figured the next three years would be the time when she could truly focus on her work and be done with Jett and all the lies he'd told. But she could not ignore what her heart was telling her and just when the arranged marriage with her brother's friend, Kazuya, had been finalized, Jett came and proposed marriage after apologizing profusely for what he had done. Mizuki had no choice but to forgive him because she had found herself thinking of him always. They were married and Mizuki was with child, giving birth to Daisuke in the Spring of 1980.
Her auror training complete, Mizuki was able to focus on her work (all the while still being pregnant even now). But the attack on Godric's Hollow, as well as the launch of the First Wizarding War, had done irreparable harm to those around her. She had lost one of her closest friends, Derek, in the fighting. Though thankful for the people who were able to escape unharmed, Mizuki still mourns for the loss of her other friends and prays that this peace will last for as long as it can. Her most immediate concern is giving birth to her son in a few short weeks.
