APPEARANCE

Hair:
     Laurence's hair is dark and if allowed to grow can became quite curly so he tends to keep it rather short to stop this from happening.
Eyes:
      His eyes are a deep dark brown often flickering with conflicts going on inside his mind. They show the world he has troubles despite his wish to keep them secret.

     5 foot 11 inch
Style:
     Laurence is not one who is into fashion but doesn't go around looking like a slob. When with his family he is expected to dress well and look the part but when away from the he dress more causually in things he feels more comfortable.

     Laurence has a some what laid back appearance. His hair not neat but not necessarily scruffy either but half way in between the two. His clothing are what he feels comfortable in as he doesn't believe in dressing up in clothing he feels silly in like bow ties despite what his father thinks. Though now he has a considerable number of tattoo's upon his body to take his mind off the fact he now bares the dark mark.

Basic Personality:
     Despite his turn to the dark side Laurence himself hasn't changed too much or at least he hopes he hasn't. At an outside look somebody who knew Laurence from school may think he has changed. He often finds himself stressed and doesn't do to well at hiding it. If people ask he just says it's part of being a professional quidditch player when in actually fact it from being a death eater. The only person who seems to understand him is his wife Vanessa who is the person Laurence care the most about in the world. She is also the only person who Laurence feels he can talk openly to without judgement and is the only thing keeping Laurence who is he and not letting him be completely devoured by his fathers dark wishes.

BIOGRAPHY

     Laurence was born in the city of Toronto a week before Halloween. His mother was French Canadian and his father and English man. It was in this great city that Laurence was brought up in. He was a city boy in that sense brought up with the sound of traffic whizzing buy the family house which often woke him up in the night as a baby. Though a year after Laurence was born another child came along which was his younger sister Cynthia. At first Laurence wasn't sure quite what to think of her being so young himself at the time but he did get used to having a little sister around after a while as it gave him somebody to play with. His father didn't always approve of him playing with girls even if she was his sister. He saw females as the lower sex and so should be treated as so.

     As he grew up his father tried to shape and mold Laurence into who he wanted him to be. He pushed him into sports and taught him the rules of quidditch from an early age since his father had been once captain of the Slytherin quidditch team. While Laurence liked the sport his father was trying to push him into a career he wasn't sure if he wanted to take it. No doubt about it Laurence did like the sport but his true passion was history, more specially medieval history and the tale of Arthur and Merlin. This passion was first discovered when his mother gave him a book about their legends when he was nine and from that point on Arthur and Merlin had been hero's of Laurence's. His father thinks nothing of the Arthurian legends and wishes Laurence would leave them alone, but Laurence doesn't want to become his father's puppet and so chooses to ignore this wish.

     At the age of elven Laurence received his Hogwarts letter and so they moved over to England that summer to a house in the county of Somerset where his father heralded from. He was taken to Diagon Alley to get the necessary equipment that he would need such as books, uniform and of course a wand. After a few tries he was finally given a wand made of pine wood which was to be the wand for Laurence. His father had hoped for a more noble wood but did not argue with the wand that his son now owned. As long as he was able to wield it properly he shouldn't have any troubled with what wood it was made from. Laurence himself was just happy to have a wand and couldn't wait until he would be learning how to use it.

     Upon the first of September in nineteen seventy-one Laurence bored the train to Hogwarts to start his magical education. Once the sorting hat was placed upon his head it placed him into Slytherin which was no big surprise due to the Barestow's linage of predominantly Slytherin's with a few Ravenclaws mixed in for wit. Though Laurence soon found that he didn't always fit in with every member of his house as he didn't always carry the same set of ideals as some. He wasn't blood prejudiced as some where nor did he but heads with other houses over silly house rivalries. Thankfully not everyone in his house was like that so he did manage to find others to talk to who didn't try and pressure him into the same ideals his father believed that he should have. Something that Laurence didn't want to happen, his worst fear was that the would become like his father.

     Naturally Laurence excelled in his history of magic classes, always with his hand in the air to answer any question the professor might throw at them. In some way it was a surprise as history of magic is not usual a subject that students wanted to learn as avidly as Laurence did. It was a subject he thrived in and continued to be his best subject throughout Hogwarts. A year later his sister joined him also in the house of Slytherin which again was no surprise, though Laurence found himself watching her more than usual. He wanted to try and make sure her innocent mind wasn't turn and twisted by some of the people lurking in the corners of his house. Though he didn't know why he bothered since he couldn't protect her from the worst of them all which was their father.

     At his father's wish Laurence joined the Slytherin quidditch team as a chaser in his forth year. Laurence enjoyed the sport as a hobby but didn't think of it as a possible career option for him as his father did. He was always trying to push him away from the history books and onto a broomstick. It seemed his father was pushing his failed dream onto Laurence and it was not something that Laurence wanted to do. Though in the summer between his forth and fifth he found out something about his father he wish he didn't know. His father called him into his office which had Laurence a bit edgy since his father usually didn't allow anyone into his office. Upon entering his father's office the door was closed and his father rolled up his sleeve to reveal the dark mark.

     Upon seeing it Laurence didn't know what to think, but he was even more horrified when his father asked him to join in some day. Laurence didn't know how to reply to this news but his father somehow thinks one day Laurence too will join their ranks, and to Laurence's dismay it was a assumption that came to be true. Something Laurence himself high doubts he would ever do but his father was a power and frightful man. But he dare not tell anyone about this for fear what it could bring about. It has in a way has made him a little bit more secretive upon his family as he doesn't want anyone to get an inkling as to what might be happening. So he must kept this dark secret and hoped that he could find a way to escape the fate that his father seems to be trying to be trying to push him towards.

     After achieving a good standard of O.W.L's Laurence was made quidditch Captain of the Slytherin team making his father immensely proud as he had also held the position whilst at Hogwarts. The remainder of his time at Hogwarts Laurence kept out of trouble as much as he could only getting in one fight and for a good reason. Still protective as ever of his sister he was horrified to hear that one of his housemates was making inappropriate advances upon her. So naturally Laurence went to put a stop to it. He confronted the boy who retorted back at on point saying he wouldn't want his sister because she was pure referring to the fact the Barestow's were not pureblood but halfblood. So Laurence clocked him one and the fight began Laurence having the upper hand before being broken up by some professors.

     After this their where calls for him to be stripped of his captaincy but they where overturned by Dumbledore believing he shouldn't not be striped as he was provoked into attacking. Though Laurence did received detention for the fight which he was happy to serve if it meant his sister as left alone. This was one of the few detentions Laurence received as he was not an avid trouble maker or found of breaking school rules. The rest of his studies went by without much bother and before Laurence knew it he was graduating with the rest of his year and receiving his NE.W.T's which strongly reflected his passion for History still. Though now his father didn't seem to care about that as he had other plans for his son.

     Once he had graduated Laurence was offered a position upon the reserve team for the Montrose Magpie's who just happened to be his father's favorite team. Laurence more or less knew his father had talked to the manager as he had started buttering the man up ever since Laurence had been made quidditch captain. And now Laurence knew why. So he would feel obliged to take the position as it would be ungrateful not to. So in the summer of nineteen seventy eight Laurence became the Magpie's newest recruit and so began to train with the team not even having been out of his education a month. While he did enjoy it having enjoyed quidditch at Hogwarts Laurence still wondered if it was the right career choice for him.

     Though becoming a profession quidditch player wasn't the only thing that happened to Laurence that summer as he was also inducted into the death eaters. Despite not wanting to become one his father somehow managed to bully his son into it and Laurence was to scared to say no to his father especially after what he had done for him by getting him a place with the Magpies. Though it wasn't the first time Laurence had met the people of the dark arts as the previous summer his father too him to a meeting to show him what would happen when he joined them. It was one of the most terrifying nights of Laurence's life especially went he was tested by others to see if they would let him into their ranks when he was ready.

     Though before Laurence was inducted after graduating he was set a task to do and it involved him having to torture somebody. Laurence did know how he managed to do it but ever since then he see's himself as a monster of sorts. Like their is a beast inside of him he hadn't realized was there and now he has to fight to contain it. After being inducted and receiving the dark mark Laurence also started acquiring other tattoo's to help hide the fact he had become a death eater. He also had the ink of his dark mark charm to luck as if it was a different tattoo as being in the lime light of being a quidditch player he afford for it to be seen. His job then was to help infiltrate to wizarding media which was made easier when he was promoted from the reserved team in the spring of nineteen eighty. No doubt his father's doing again.

     Though the Christmas before his promotion in nineteen seventy nine he was introduced to the woman would become his wife. Though while it was an arranged marriage it seemed that his father had indeed found him a little gem by the name of Vanessa. She was beautiful, blonde and french. She was the daughter of one of Laurence father's friends who lived him France having married a wealthy french witch. Unlike Laurence she didn't attend Hogwarts but instead went to Beauxbaton's which was the french equivalent. This is one of the few things Laurence actually thanks his father for as if they hadn't been brought together that Christmas they may have never met.

     They where wed in May in Paris since Vanessa's family where the ones footing the bill. Though afterwords the couple moved into a house in somerset which was Laurence parents wedding gift to them. It is in this house that they share all their secrets with each other as Vanessa supports Laurence and his wish to pull away from the dark side. Though she is patient with him as she too fears what his father might do if he turned away from the dark lord who still calls upon Laurence to gather information from people which has required him yet again to torture more people despite his hate of doing it. But he cannot seem to stand up for himself yet and pull away from the dark cause.

     Though to lighten the dark times Laurence is currently going through he has recently found that Vanessa is with child and that come the summer next year he will be a father. Though while he is celebrating the new life that will come with his newborn child he is also dealing with the deaths of people he once knew and attended school with. He blames himself for knowing that the some of the attacks where going to happen but he didn't do anything to stop them. While Laurence may have had to torture some people he has never killed and likes to believe he never will unless he let this 'beast' inside of him take over something his wife Vanessa promises she will never let happen.
