Juliette Victoria Wilkes
Full Name: Juliette Victoria Wilkes Nicknames: Julie, Jules Date of Birth: February 10th Hometown: Somerset, UK Education: Slytherin 1977 Blood Status: pureblood Occupation: shopkeeper and entrepreneur Employer: self employed Wand Type: Oleander, eight and three quarter inches, manticore hair |
APPEARANCE
Hair:
Golden blonde and worn in a variety of styles. For the everyday look she often likes to wear it loose and curled into slightly tousled waves. She believes it highlights not only her natural beauty but her body as her hair manages to fall just past her collar bone and direct eyes further down to some of her other features. For formal events she prefers to wear her hair up in a classic chignon or a simple bun.
Eyes:
Juliette has hazel eyes that more often than not tend toward brown. You can only see a little green when she wears certain colors, or when she chooses to change her hair color, which happens very rarely.
Height:
5’ 6”
Style:
Juliette lives for looks that are classy yet suggestive. She likes to dress in a manner that makes everyone talk, one way or another. Still, she likes to keep most of her looks tasteful and glamorous both for the sake of her brand and her reputation. She has a small penchant for purchasing couture dresses that she may or may not wear simply because she likes having them out as art pieces.
Etc.:
She has a little scar on the left side of her face from when she found her home ransacked as a teenager. A piece of glass cut her just right and she refused to have anyone touch it. Since it healed poorly it is visible as a slight bump just below her cheekbone. She uses her hair or a little bit of magic to conceal it when she doesn’t want it showing.
PERSONALITY
Erised:
To have her family back the way it was.
Dementor:
Seeing her house ransacked when she came home for winter break and never finding the bodies of her family- just blood.
Patronus:
Writing her to her parents that she had been sorted into Slytherin
Boggart:
Not being able to protect those she loves.
Likes:
Beauty products, make overs, gardenias, fresh cut roses, chocolate, the water, success, power, prestige, children, swimming, fashion, wine, art, romance novels, revenge, purebloods, a well organized space, parties, good manners and breeding
Dislikes:
the ministry, the order of the phoenix, mudbloods, halfbloods, girls who can’t put themselves together even after receiving extensive advice, winter, Christmas, camping, killing, bad parties, poor etiquette
Basic Personality:
Though some people would describe her as reserved and cold, Juliette prefers to think of her personality and refined. She can be very warm and welcoming to those she thinks are worth it and once she considers you her friend it is rather hard to push her away. Juliette is a bit of a meddler and likes to insert herself into other people’s lives and try to better them for her own amusement. Sometimes this means trying to set them up and other times this means a make over or other personal improvements but whenever she does it, her intentions are always for the best. However, while she likes meddling with others she very rarely likes to be meddled with. She is very keen on revenge for any perceived wrongs no matter how petty they are. She can wait as long as it takes to get back at someone. She is tenacious and ambitious, always putting her personal needs last and the needs of her friend and her alliances first. She only shows her fears and true feelings to her closest friends, of which there are very few. Normally she manages to hide most of her true fears and doubts beneath a veneer of calm and grace, or a witty judgmental quip.

Biography:
The perfect family. That was what the Wilkes were after when then married. They wanted a mansion, which they had thanks to old family money and connections on both sides. Fabian had a high ministry title under the minister thanks to his ties and Diana was always a pillar of grace and beauty and the perfect mother and wife. The couple then started on the final piece of their perfect puzzle- a family. Originally they wanted at least one boy and one girl. They wanted no more than three children at first. It was the perfect number to bolster the pureblood line without squandering resources. Things began for the family well enough. Two strong healthy boys were born. But by the third boy the family was willing to break their original limit for a girl. After all, Diana wanted a girl and girls could be useful.
Diana was desperate. She went through every myth to try to get a girl on that fourth try. She wasn’t as young as she used to be either. Well into her thirties it was a trial on everyone in the family. But the hard work and diligence paid off when Juliette was born. Her name was chosen for its beauty and its tradition and the new baby was spoiled from the minute it was born. Juliette was given the best. Her brother were told to respect and protect her though one of them was only six at the time. The finest fashions in baby wear were brought in, and sometimes designed. To make the youngest and only girl of the Wilkes clan even more special, she showed magical signs at the young age of four- something the family was very proud of. Her grandmother called the first showing of magic as a testament to the importance of maintaining bloodlines.
Juliette remained the darling of the family for most of her life. She was well behaved- allowing for the occasional tantrum. Her brothers adored her- when they weren’t making fun of her or irritating her. But Juliette always put on a good show when it was required and did her job. She made friends with all the right children of all the right families. She was especially close to the three black girls, looking up to Bellatrix and mentoring and sistering Narcissa as if she was her own. She even tried to kiss Sirius Black once to the amusement of the adult. He spit and said she had cooties. She still hasn’t forgiven him for that.
For the first few years at Hogwarts everything went as planned. Juliette was sorted into Slytherin without a single moments hesitation from the hat. Her youngest older brother welcomed her and eased her into the rhythms and patterns of Hogwarts and Bellatrix made sure she was well behaved and making the proper connections. By her second or third year at Hogwarts, however, the roles were well reversed. Juliette was a pillar of grace and becoming one of the more popular girls of her year. She was making sure Bellatrix didn’t loose her temper and often restyled the older girl despite a lot of protests and hexes flying. Still, it was a good time for Juliette, carefree and generally all about dating and just having a good time and putting her best foot forward. She of course exceeded expectations in most of her classes. Her best classes were potions, charms, and herbology.
Things started to change for Juliette her sixth year. She started off the year strong. She was made a prefect. She found a boyfriend from a solid pureblooded family. After he broke her heart but running off for a mudblood loving girl she went off the deep end just a little bit. She secretly dated Sirius Black for a month before recovering her wits and going back to life as usual. She hit her peak that year when she started dating fellow prefect Rabastan Lestrange. They dated all the way through the start of the seventh year. Juliette was convinced it was an excellent catch.
Seventh year was perfect up until the packages started arriving. Her parents and her brothers told her to hide anything that was sent to her following directions to the letter. One after another packages started pouring in- things that were sinister looking and dangerous. She got hurt sometimes thanks to the packages. On Halloween night she accidentally touched one of the objects and it started draining all her energy. She eventually had to pry it off using other objects and ended up recovering in the room of requirement so long that she showed up two hours late to the ball.
Juliette reached her lowest point when she arrived home from Hogwarts over winter of her seventh year. No one met her at the station. She waited for two hours until she finally sent an owl to the Blacks asking for help. They took her home. Juliette was angry and hurt. She thought that something about her eldest brother’s wedding had flaired up and they had forgotten her. When she unlocked the manor and found the whole place ransacked and destroyed with small pools of blood near the front steps and trailing to the upstairs. There were no bodies. When she didn’t find anything Juliette screamed. She screamed for an hour straight. No one could console her. For a while there was talk of putting her away. She wouldn’t speak to anyone. Not her grandmother, not her friends, not her boyfriend. She would just sit in perfect silence staring at the wall.
The funeral was held an month later. There were still no bodies, but every member of the Wilkes family, except for Juliette, had been missing. Juliette pulled herself together watching them put up stones for people who had just vanished. People she cared about. She was sure that her family was held captive by the ministry. That the destruction of her home was the work of a ministry raid gone horribly wrong. They told her that it was the work of families she trusted and she refused to believe any of them. Juliette just stopped listening to everyone. She was polite and put together. She wrote thank you notes for kind thoughts and gifts. She made the right appearances but she was always cold and withdrawn. It got to the point where even Rabastan gave up on her and left her thanks to her new demeanor.
Juliette didn’t thaw. She skipped her graduation because she didn’t want to be reminded of the fact that everything she worked for was to make her family proud and now they weren’t here to see it. After graduation Juliette sold her house and got a flat in London. She tried to be a socialite and put things behind her but she couldn’t. She no longer wanted to be a mediwitch and spent her free time home brewing beauty remedies to keep from getting bored between engagements. Eventually Juliette was dispensing beauty advice and her home products amongst the socialites. It grew into its own monster and soon Juliette had her own small manor and a booming beauty business. She produced everything from perfumes to concealers that would actually made a blemish disappear to temporary hair and eye color changers.
With each success Juliette regained a little more semblance of her old self. She was a little more charming and a little less cold. She spoke more to her friends. She threw lavish parties and had a good time provided the right company was there. It helps that she is Witch Weeklies best under thirty to watch. Her company’s success helped fund some of her ‘friends’ ventures along with some of her other private tinkering with potions at her home.
