     Sarah Jane's wardrobe has become her suit of armor. She wears layers of black and gray, her style much edgier after going through a lot of emotional turmoil in her teenage years. Since graduating from school, getting her own job, and living on her own, Sarah Jane has introduced more color into her wardrobe, but she still sticks to black and greys for the base of her outfit since she's not a big fan of mixing colors.

     Sarah Jane is a beautiful young woman. People often treat her like she's older than she is because she's always looked that way, even though she's rather petite and has a large, girlish smile. She has a very round, open sound to her voice. She was born and raised in Lincolnshire. Sarah Jane has a very trim, athletic build as she keeps healthy by eating right and running.

PERSONALITY

     Ideally, Sarah Jane would like to balance a successful career as a journalist with a family, preferably all girls with a husband who does the dishes.
Dementor:
     Having to leave Hogwarts at the end of her sixth year. Sarah Jane has never been more miserable in her life; she had to part ways with her best friends, end her relationship with her boyfriend, and say goodbye to the most welcoming place she's ever called home. The sixth months she spend in Hong Kong with her mother were equally miserable, as her mother was struggling with her alcohol addiction, and she wasn't an easy person to live with.
Patronus:
     The night of her class' graduation party. Everyone seemed so happy, even though this was the last night they would all be together.
Boggart:
     Becoming as self-destructive and miserable as her mother. She loves her mother very much, but Sarah Jane never wants to let her dark feelings absorb her life as Angela Blythe's have done. If she were to encounter a boggart, it would manifest as a giant, hairy rat, for Sarah Jane hates all rodents, save for squirrels. She can't be scared or disgusted by something with such a fluffy tail.

Basic Personality:
     Sarah Jane has developed a very sarcastic sense of humor, one that makes it difficult to tell when she's being serious or just messing around for those who don't know her very well. She's grown up a lot since graduation, both physically and emotionally, no longer letting herself become so affected by the heavy happenings around her. She used to be a firm stickler to the rules, but she's learned how to let her hair down. She feels she's suffered enough for the sake of propriety.

When it comes to her friends, Sarah Jane is incredibly protective. It's not as easy for her to stand up for herself, but when someone threatens the happiness of her close friends, she has no problem screaming in their face.

Biography:
     Sarah Jane is the only child of Leonard and Angela Blythe, two former Ravenclaws who started dating after Hogwarts when they both started working for the Ministry. Her father works for the Asian division of the Department of International Magical Cooperation, which is why Sarah Jane was born in Tokyo rather than her hometown of Lincoln, England. She has very few memories of the first five years of her life, but she can still vaguely remember the colors and the smells.
     Upon returning to the UK, Sarah Jane attended Muggle primary school. Her parents wanted her to be able to move between the Muggle and Magical worlds with ease, and saw this as an important way to immerse her in Muggle ways. And they could never agree on a nanny.
     Upon arriving at Hogwarts, she was sorted into Ravenclaw, a house that is known for its 'wit and learning,' and apparently also for its parties. Sarah Jane thrived there, although she was never a heavy drinker. She made excellent marks in all of her classes, which were more fascinating and more difficult than the ones she'd taken at primary school in Lincoln.
     At the end of her sixth year, Sarah Jane's mother was sent to the hospital with alcohol poisoning. Angela Blythe has struggled with alcoholism her entire life, and this was a low point. The Blythes decided to move to Hong Kong for a while, in hopes that getting away from Angela's enabling friends would bring about a positive change for her. Sarah Jane went with them, and decided to self-study for the NEWTs on her own. She hated being away from school, but she loved her mother enough to want to try to help her.
     Things were not easy in Hong Kong. Sarah Jane kept up with her studies, but she spent far too much time cooped up in the flat with her mother, who was not doing well with her attempts to sober up. In the middle of December, Sarah Jane decided to go back to Hogwarts to finish her education, and her parents decided to get a divorce. It broke her heart, but sadly, she'd wished for it for some time now.
     She felt like she was out of synch with everyone when classes resumed, because even though everyone was happy to have her back, they'd developed a routine over the past few months that didn't include her. She spent a lot of time with herself, especially since her best mates were busy with Quidditch or their new girlfriends and boyfriends.
     It was during the rest of her time at Hogwarts that Sarah Jane finally broke out of the shell she'd lived in for most of her life. She started dating one of the boys on the Quidditch team, she even joined the Quidditch team (save for a pretty spectacular move during one of the Ravenclaw games, she was ruddy awful), and together they checked off all of the numbers on a list of 'Twenty Things You Should Do Before Graduating Hogwarts.'
     After graduation, Sarah Jane got a job and a flat in Hogsmeade. While Madam Puddifoot's isn't where she wanted to start a career, Sarah Jane was content in becoming self-sufficient while she figured out what path she wanted to take in life. It was in the early months of 1979 that she got a job working for the Radford Charms Institute as a Charms Researcher, where she and a select group of others develop and experiment with different charms. She works with a motley crew of individuals, but she finds a lot of fulfillment in her work. She left her flat in Hogsmeade when her flatmate got married near the end of their lease and got a bigger place in Lincoln, her hometown. She still does most of her shopping in Hogsmeade, but enjoys being closer to her parents, whom she still meets for dinner once a week.
