     Sirius Black is naturally good-looking. He looks like he's walked out of a fashion advertisement even when his hair is sticking up in several places in the morning and his eyes are bleary with sleep. He uses his looks to his advantage but isn't as narcissistic as you'd expect him to be. That says more about people's expectations than anything, because Sirius is usually quite full of himself.

Basic Personality:
     Sirius Black can be incredibly charming when he wants to be, but having relied for so long on his natural good looks to charm his way through everything, he's let some of his manners fall to the wayside. He can be offensively frank and often makes thoughtless jokes that usually end up hurting people's feelings. He's not a cruel person, just a rash and thoughtless one at times. He is insanely loyal to the people he cares about, and while he usually prefers to laugh things off, he will grow quite serious (shut up) when his friends are threatened. He's very confrontational when he feels like he has the upper hand, but when things get hard, Sirius usually locks himself in his room or goes to a pub none of his mates are familiar with to drink alone. For such a social person, he's an amazingly solitary creature.

BIOGRAPHY

     Sirius was born into the Most Noble and Ancient House of Black, an old Wizarding family that prides itself on being pure-blood and having all of its descendants sorted into Slytherin. He had a younger brother named Regulus who fit the family mold more than Sirius ever did. The two were close when they were younger, but over the years they grew further and further apart.

When Sirius arrived at Hogwarts and was sorted into Gryffindor House, his mother stopped speaking to him except for whenever she would scream at him for tarnishing the family name. His father was obsessed with preserving the family honor and all of its valuables, so he heavily fortified the family home, making it unplottable and repellent to Muggles. He grew very reclusive and left the tending to family and home to his wife, who became easily stressed and lost her temper on the fly.

Sirius rebelled in many ways, finding his family’s way of life oppressive and old-fashioned. He pinned up posters of Muggle motorcycles and cars, as well as a few posters of bikini-clad Muggle girls to his bedroom walls. They drove his mother batty and he even put a permanent sticking charm on them so they would be there even after he's been long dead. He was never sure if it was the subject of the posters that make his mother crazy or the fact that they don’t move like wizard photos and portraits do. He didn't care either way.

At Hogwarts he met James Potter, and the two immediately became best friends, along with a quiet boy named Remus Lupin and a round-faced boy named Peter Pettigrew. They soon afterwards discovered their friend Remus' “furry little problem,” and the group mastered the art of animagic. Sirius’s animagus form is a big, shaggy black dog who likes to chase birds and have a great time, much like Sirius in his human form.

Throughout his Hogwarts days, Sirius and James both shared an intense hatred and rivalry with Severus Snape, a boy that served as their mascot for everything that was wrong with the world. Sirius and James were quite cruel to Severus: James humiliated him very publicly and Sirius played a cruel joke on him that could have cost Severus his life had James not found out his plan in time.

Sirius is a very active individual, although he’s prone to bouts of laziness. He played Beater for the Gryffindor Quidditch team, where he tried his best not to mind that his best mate was the star of the team. He was always sympathetic to James’ crush on Lily Evans and often did what he could to talk James up with Lily. She always saw through his attempts to win her over, but Sirius was almost as persistent as James was.

Things at home got worse since he received his OWL results. They weren't terrible, but there weren't as many as Walburga Black would have liked. Sirius argued that he could have gotten 12 Outstanding OWLs and she'd still never be happy, but the woman continued to make demands that Sirius couldn't meet. The summer before his seventh year, Sirius packed his things and hopped on the Knight Bus. When he arrived on James Potter's doorstep, there were many questions asked, but only after he was guaranteed a welcome in their home.

After graduation, he and Remus got a place together in London. It was small and cramped and Remus often complained of Sirius' poor housekeeping habits, but they were happy. Sirius often ignored the sock on Remus' bedroom door and blasted loud music whenever Marlene was over, always claiming he was trying to help them get in the mood. Remus' counter attacks were always much more devious, and often ended with girls leaving their flat claiming Sirius was the last person they ever wanted to see ever again. Say what you want of Remus Lupin, but he's an evil mastermind.

When the Order formed, Sirius was quick to join. He knew it was the right thing to do, but Sirius joined because he has a thirst for adventure that is beyond reckless and often gives his friends cause to worry. When Remus moved out after his dad died and disappeared for weeks at a time, Sirius began to fear that Remus was working as a spy for Voldemort. It didn't help that Remus wouldn't tell anyone what he was doing or why he missed a number of Order meetings, as well as Harry's birthday. He's confronted Remus about his suspicions and the two were close to duelling, but Remus spat that Sirius didn't know what he was talking about and the two left on bad terms.
