APPEARANCE

Hair:
Long, thick yellow hair that hits halfway down her back. It's often swung in a low, loose braid that falls over her shoulder or up in a bun on her head. Her work both at home and at St. Mungo's requires her hair be well out of her wide eyes.

Wide and bright, they're a clear, sharp green.

Style:
Belle is a woman of fine taste and this did not change despite her status as a single parent. She wears heels on her days off, but always fine silk blouses and clean skirts with sharply tailored lines. Her silhouette is distinctly defined in every single one of her wardrobe choices.

Belle's appearance has only minutely changed in the last three years. Since her graduation, she has gone through a considerable amount of change which only effects her appearance slightly. She didn't struggle with losing weight after her pregnancy, but she does have places on her body that now look different, she does have a more relaxed wardrobe, she does toss her hair up now and go without make-up on occasion.

Basic Personality:
Although more mature, Belle is still an absolute ball of sunshine to a fault. She has his unbridled optimism that causes others to either rely too heavily on her or underestimate her entirely. She is more protective, a little more capable since she had a baby and she tends to place her daughter before herself and her social life so she makes no exceptions for those who cannot understand that.
She does have a bite, if you try to cross her and she seems a little more subdued now, despite her being a girl who is easily impressed. She doesn't fall as easily or at all now.

BIOGRAPHY

Belle DuMarc was born on February 14th in a dingy Parisian apartment that her mother found romantic; it was just to the left of the Sacre du Ceour, nestled behind the Moulin Rouge and it had been raining that Tuesday, from eight in the morning, up until her actual birth. The sun came out at four in the afternoon, the hour which Belle (named for her appearance) arrived into the world.

Born to a young, poor, yet pureblooded Parisian who married a wealthy, wealthy pureblood man, Belle is the eldest child of the now destroyed DuMarc empire. She did not stay in that romantic apartment long because she was to be raised on estate. It was straight out of a fine, romantic novel, large rooms, marble flooring, doric columns and victorian fountains surrrounded by fields and forests of vast green nothingness.
Nothingness. Her parents marriage and estate amounted to nothingness.
She was trained by a governess, welcomed her younger brother into the family and was sent promptly off to Hogwarts at eleven.

She lived a life of sheer consumption. Clothing, food, books, perfumes, and as she got older, alcohol, sex and cigarettes. Gaining a reputation as somewhat of a wild child, she was careful not to stray from said image. However, despite this lifestyle, she remained somewhat well liked, due to this incredible optimism that she had somehow ascertained over the years. She never wanted.

She never wanted until she met Benjamin Ryland, a man of a poor reputation himself and her Care of Magical Creatures professor. He had long been an acquaintance of her fathers', a man of poor means, but the right connections and loyalty. He was exceptionally handsome, self-educated and as desperately in love with her as she was in love with him.

They began an affair before her graduation that led to a set of sordid circumstances, a death of a student who had seen too much and Benjamin's temporary imprisonment. However, when he was released from jail, they carried on their relationship as she had graduated from Hogwarts. When her father died later in the year, Benjamin inherited the estate from a will that should have granted it to Belle's younger brother. The family name DuMarc was dissolved instantaneously.

As the Dark Lord grew more powerful, their entanglement became more intensified and Belle married Benjamin the same five months she became pregnant with her first child.

Blanche would never meet her father as he would leave them before. Belle's morals did not align with her husband's and it drove between them so suddenly that Benjamin left her before the birth of the child. Absolutely broken-hearted, Belle stashed away to Paris for years, only allowing visits by her brother and closest friends.

Then Blanche. Then everything good came back all very quickly.

Blanche DuMarc was every bit her father, but she had her mother's incredibly soft eyes and pretty hair. She was an entity that Belle never knew could happen and for once, she learned that there was someone to love more than who she lost.
She devoted every ounce of herself to being a good mother, juggling training, friends and her daughter; moving into a new apartment once she found a job within the walls of St. Mungo's, allowing Blanche her aunts and uncles, (her friends) and not even thinking of dating in this time. Still, life had been dark during the war, especially for her friends so committed to fighting back.
Belle contributed in the healing process and recovery ward for those fighting, but did not join. She couldn't. Instead, she stood in the background and provided support.
