APPEARANCE
Hair:
Sleek, chestnut brown
Eyes:
Light brown
Height:
5'2" (1.57 m)
Style:
Julia likes to wear a lot of prints and flowy tops, as well as skirts and dresses in bold, solid colors. Pumps hurt her feel but as she's rather petite, so she likes a bit of lift in her shoes. She often wears boots with a thick heel that are bearable to stand on and also tries to stand on the higher part of uneven ground when in company.
Etc.:
Julia is quite petite with dark hair, dark eyes, and an olive complexion. She is usually well-dressed in comfortable clothing and her hair is always well cared for. In fact, she's often quite finicky about her hair and is constantly checking its status in a mirror or any reflective surface. It makes her appear vain, but really she's just terrified of having having her hair out of place and looking a mess.
PERSONALITY
Erised:
She is desperate for a family of her own.
Dementor:
The Battle of Hogsmeade.
Patronus:
She went for a walk one summer afternoon and discovered a small brook in the woods near her house. She'd brought a book with her and a blanket so she could stretch out and read; eventually she fell asleep, and when she woke up she felt such a peace within her that she hopes to feel again. She hasn't felt that since the war.
Boggart:
Mice and rats. Spiders, snakes, any other creepy crawlers don't disturb her. Rodents make her squeal and crawl onto the kitchen table.
Likes:
Coffee (hopeless addict), ice cream, chocolate, fruit, Quidditch, shopping for clothes, tinkering with gadgets to find out how they work, plants (her flat is covered with ferns, small trees, and flowers in vases), cooking with wine, love songs, Christmastime
Dislikes:
Mice, rats, whisky, wearing leather (so creaky), visiting a person's flat that doesn't feel homey or is covered in pet hair, toads, peanuts (extremely allergic; peanut butter depresses her), dancing (she's a tragedy on the dance floor), February, cars and trains (she's terrified of being hit by one)
Basic Personality:
Julia loves to tease people. One could say it's a form of adoration, but she teases those she dislikes just as much as the ones she loves; it's a habit she learned from her father. She's incredibly enthusiastic about her interests: herbology, Quidditch, the holidays, and shopping for clothes with her friends. She doesn't put up with a lot of shit and can sometimes be a bit selfish, but that doesn't mean she isn't kind and courteous to people. Julia is known to talk very passionately about things and get into arguments without completely thinking her argument through. She always means well, but she oftentimes is too stubborn to see sense.
BIOGRAPHY
Julia is the second of four daughters born to Alan and Miranda Furst of Malton, England. Despite being born and raised in Yorkshire, Julia doesn't have a very strong Northern accent. although it's a bit stronger when she and her family are together. The Fursts live in a cozy two story home just outside of town, which affords a lovely view of the sprawling green hills covered in grazing sheep and, in the mornings and on particularly cold days, a thick layer of fog.
All of the girls are very different. Olivia always seems stressed and moves at a fast pace that causes everyone anxiety just by watching her. Of the four girls, she and Julia argue the most, but they also tend to agree on things that the rest of the family will oppose, such as where to eat out for dinner or what to get their gran for her birthday.
Laura is very quiet and creative, and acts as the peacemaker in the family. She comes across as naively sweet, but she's a lot more perceptive than her family gives her credit for. She is notorious for drinking too much eggnog at Christmas and giggling uncontrollably at the slightest provocation. Their next door neighbor, Collin, is hopelessly in love with her, but - to put it kindly - he and Laura are not an even match.
Hannah is very much the baby of the family. She is rebellious and yet wants to be included in all of the family activities, often contradicting herself or changing her mind when making plans. She's boy crazy to a worrying degree, spends too much money buying things she doesn't need or already has, and does a very poor job of taking care of herself.
Julia is the stubborn one. She's often wrapped up in her own little world, which makes her forgetful and prone to oversights. She is hopelessly addicted to coffee and when stressed will drink several cups in one sitting, which always gives her the jitters. She is very concerned about the state of her parents' relationship, which has never been poor, but Julia hates it whenever they argue. She wishes she were innocent and naive like she was when she was a child and clings to things that remind her of her childhood - especially the holidays. She hates it when anyone wants to break tradition and gets upset by those who goes back on their word.
She was sorted into Gryffindor at Hogwarts, where she made good friends with a number of her classmates, but most specifically her roommate, Evelyn Teague. She didn't like Evie at first, especially since her mess tended to live in parts of the room other than her own, but she was quickly won over by the girl's sense of humor and general attitude towards life.
Julia's dating history makes her bury her face in her hands whenever it's brought up in company. She's never had the best taste in boys - she often overlooks personality traits that she hates and has needed intervention to help her see the light on a few occasions. Most notable was when she dated Tobias Murphy at the start of seventh year. Tobias was a Hufflepuff boy a year younger than her who is notorious for his on and off relationship with fellow badger, Heather Adams. Tobias was nice, but he had a dim sense of humor and while fit and athletic, he wasn't exactly the sharpest quill in the set.
Then after graduation, Julia made the mistake of dating a coworker when she started work at Quality Quidditch Supplies. His name was Carlo (his family was Italian) and whenever he talked she would just grin and go a bit cross-eyed. It was Evie who eventually had to point out that he was stealing money from the shop, something that was obvious to anyone but Julia. She almost lost her job when her boss discovered the money was missing, because Carlo immediately tried to place blame on Julia. When her name was eventually cleared, Carlo fell off the grid. He hasn't been seen by Julia or anyone she knows since.
Ever since she and her sisters left Hogwarts, Julia has lived in constant fear that her family will be killed by Death Eaters. It is a fear that most people have, but luckily no one in her family suffered during the war, save for a few sleepless nights. Julia would cry every morning she recognize the name of someone who was listed in the Prophet as recently killed, and even times when she didn't know the person. She wouldn't go out much for fearing of crossing paths with You-Know-Who or his Death Eaters, and if she did go out, she went to a friends house and was constantly worried by the sound of the wind brushing a tree branch against the window.
She is currently single, working at Quality Quidditch Supplies in Diagon Alley, and lives in a flat in London with her younger sister, Laura, who works at a low-level position in the Ministry's Goblin Liaison office.
